Hold to the Rod
And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit. And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father. D&C 84:46-47

The PoWeR Award
Prayer,
Writing, and
Reading Scriptures
The real desire of this goal is that you will develop a lifelong habit of reaching to God through daily communication. Taking time to pray each morning and evening, to express your thoughts in writing in your prayer journal, and reading from the scriptures will provide a strength in your life that cannot be described.
The goal is for you to do these three things for 180 days. Every day that you complete a perfect PWR day, mark off a box. If you miss a day, don’t skip a box, just mark the very next box the next day that you read. There is a 60 Day award, a 120 Day award, a 180 Day award, a 240 Day award, and (if you only miss 4 or less days between March 1st and February 28th of the next year) a 300 Day award. The 180 Day award is required to earn the Yearly Pebbles Award.

The Pebbles Program
in Three Parts
Monthly Pebbles Mother-Daughter Nights
One evening each month, the girls and their mothers are invited to Pebbles Night. We usually have a special guest come and teach, demonstrate, and motivate us on a specific area of focus. We strive to make this a special mother-daughter time for the girls and their Moms, learning important skills and knowledge, rubbing shoulders with other exemplary women, and renewing one another’s determination to continue working on these worthy goals. This will also be the time to present the girls with the awards that they have earned during the previous month and to allow the girls to share some of the experiences they have had in earning them.

Afternoon Pebbles Meets
Just as the armies of Israel were assigned captains of ten, we will also have the opportunity to meet in smaller “companies.” This is another opportunity to work together in setting and accomplishing goals. You and your Mom will get a turn to host one of these weekly activities. Using your skills, talents, and interest, you can choose all kinds of activities from going on a hike to making bread to decorating cakes to learning to trim hair.
Regular Mother-Daughter Interviews
This program was never intended to be merely an organization for girls. It is a mentoring mother’s club! The key to the success in this program are the mother-daughter interviews that each mother is encouraged to conduct monthly with her daughter. The idea is that this is done sometime after Pebbles Night (where the girls are encouraged to set their goal for the month) and before the Individual Pebbles Meet (where the girls are encouraged to report the completion of their goal for the month) so that the moms can help each girl in the evaluation and goal adapting process. We believe that this is an invaluable opportunity for teaching and counseling that can lay the foundation for a lifetime of righteous mentoring.
