Hold to the Rod
And the Spirit giveth light to every man that cometh into the world; and the Spirit enlighteneth every man through the world, that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit. And every one that hearkeneth to the voice of the Spirit cometh unto God, even the Father. D&C 84:46-47

The PoWeR Award
Prayer,
Writing, and
Reading Scriptures
The real desire of this goal is that you will develop a lifelong habit of reaching to God through daily communication. Taking time to pray each morning and evening, to express your thoughts in writing in your prayer journal, and reading from the scriptures will provide a strength in your life that cannot be described.
The goal is for you to do these three things for 180 days. Every day that you complete a perfect PWR day, mark off a box. If you miss a day, don’t skip a box, just mark the very next box the next day that you read. There is a 60 Day award, a 120 Day award, a 180 Day award, a 240 Day award, and (if you only miss 4 or less days between March 1st and February 28th of the next year) a 300 Day award. The 180 Day award is required to earn the Yearly Pebbles Award.

After the Creator
“Progress, improve upon, and make beautiful everything around you. Cultivate the earth and cultivate your minds. Build cities, adorn your habitations, make gardens, orchards and vineyards, and render the earth so pleasant that when you look upon your labors, you may do so with pleasure, and that angels may delight to come and visit your beautiful locations.” Deseret News 8/8/1860, 177.

Art & Creativity
We have been born on this earth to serve our Heavenly Father in unique ways, and when we do this creatively, we spark the divine that is within us.
“The bounds of creativity extend far beyond the limits of a canvas or a sheet of paper and do not require a brush, a pen, or the keys of a piano. Creation means bringing into existence something that did not exist before – colorful gardens, harmonious homes, family memories, flowing laughter.” Dieter Uchtdorf
In that spirit, set a goal to expand your knowledge and skill in creating something wonderful.
For example:
Learn about arranging flowers. Create a center-piece.
Learn about cake decorating. Design and decorate a cake.
Learn about calligraphy. Write a scripture in a calligraphy font.
Paint something.
Learn about fontography. Develop your own font. Hint: there are free programs that you can get online that will help you to develop your own, unique font.
Draw something.
Learn about the golden section and use it to design a scrapbook page.
Sculpt something.
Learn how to do Celtic knotwork (designs). Create a knotwork symbol.
